Pavtube MKV Converter is a multi-format video converter. It can be used to convert MKV and MKA files into a variety of other formats. The application uses conversion profiles, which are optimized conversion settings, for a variety of mobile media playback devices, such as iPods, iPhones, AppleTV, PS3, PSP, etc. You can either use those and have optimized video for those devices, or choose a standard format which will play on most other devices such as AVI, MP4, etc.
Graphically, the application looks OK. I am not a fan of bright colors like red in user interfaces, but this one isn't too bad. The GUI has everything you need on the main window. There is a video player, the conversion profiles and the space for your queue.
In terms of performance, Pavtube MKV Converter doesn't disappoint. It converts files quite well. The quality of the conversions is great, and the final files are often almost identical to the source ones. The speed is on par with other solutions out there.
The only thing I wish this converted had but doesn't is the ability to select different audio and subtitle tracks on your MKV files. That is a feature that I absolutely need from my video converters, and this one doesn't let you hard-code subtitles on video files. |
